About the Increasing Quality of and Access to Early Childhood Education Services (ECE) Project

The “Increasing Quality of and Access to Early Childhood Education Services (ECE)” Project, is co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Türkiye and carried out by the Ministry of National Education with technical support of UNICEF.

The Project aims to increase the access of all children to early childhood education services and improve the quality of preschool education. The Project also aims to expand early childhood education services through alternative flexible models.

The main target groups of this Project include teachers, school administrators, parents and other ECE service providers. The Project is being implemented in 20 provinces in total, including; Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Aydın, Bitlis, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Erzurum, Gaziantep, İstanbul, İzmir, Kastamonu, Konya, Manisa, Mardin, Samsun, Şanlıurfa, Tekirdağ, Trabzon and Van.

In this context, the Project aims to achieve the following results:

Result 1

Early Childhood Education services are expanded for all 0-6-year-old children, especially for the most vulnerable communities.

Result 2

The quality of Early Childhood Education services is improved based on revised curriculum, materials and national standards.

Result 3

Families’ beliefs and attitudes regarding the quality and value of Early Childhood Education services, especially in the most vulnerable communities, is positively changed.

Result 4

A conducive environment for increased access to quality Early Childhood Education services is promoted by revised ECE legislation.
